Contractors are expected to be ethical individuals who do the jobs they are hired to do. Unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous individuals in this field that will take advantage of what they deem easy money. This puts customers at risk of getting shoddy work done or simply not getting the work done at all.
If you worked with a contractor who didn’t do the job he or she was hired to do, you might decide that you aren’t going to just sit back and deal with the monetary loss. You might decide that you are going take legal action to try to get the issue handled in a suitable manner.
When it comes to construction disputes, there are several things that you need to think about as you prepare your case. You will need to show what defect is present. This impacts your case because if the defect was one that wasn’t readily noticeable by the contractor, there is a chance that you will need to turn to the product manufacturer.
If the issue is with the contractor’s work, you would name the contractor in your lawsuit. There are many different things that can do wrong with contractors. Improper drainage and unstable foundation are two issues that could be serious in the long run.
Ultimately, your goal is to recover your money and to get the issues corrected. Remember these as we work to build your case. We will work with you to help you determine what resolutions are appropriate in your case so that we understand what we need to try to do.
